Thieves Attempt To Steal Cash Machine
An investigation has been launched following the attempted robbery of a cash machine in Castlerock.
Police said that a lorry made "a number of attempts" to remove the cash machine from a wall at a petrol station on the Mussenden Road at around 04:40 on Friday morning.
The thieves didn't manage to remove the cash machine.
A lorry was recovered a short time later in the Garvagh Road area. A forensic examination of the vehicle is to be carried out.
Police are appealing to anyone with any information to contact them.

Cash machine users were today advised to keep playing safe when making cash withdrawals, despite fraudulent cash withdrawals in Northern Ireland falling by 8% to £368,000 over the past year. However, despite a fall in Northern Ireland figures the rest of the UK saw an average rise of 85% in fraudulent cash withdrawals over the same period.

Thieves attempted to steal an ATM machine from a railway station in Co Armagh. Police were alerted of the incident in the Woodhouse street area in Portadown in the early hours of Tuesday morning, after reports that a window had been smashed at the station.

Thieves Use Heavy Machinery To Steal Cash Machine In Co Armagh
A cash machine has been stolen from a petrol station by thieves using heavy machinery in Co Armagh. The incident happened on the Carnlough Road at around 3.30am on Friday. Thieves stole the heavy machinery from a building site on the Carnlough Road and used it to steal the ATM machine. They set the machinery on fire, blocking the Carnlough Road.

They set fire to the ATM machine as they were unable to retrieve it. It is believed three men were involved in the incident.

Cash Machine Stolen From Co Tyrone Filling Station
Police have reported the overnight theft of a cash machine from a petrol station in the village of Donaghmore, Co Tyrone. According to police it is thought that a digger may have been used in the robbery from the Emo station on Pomeroy Road. The digger and other equipment was found nearby shortly after the robbery was reported.
