Dungannon Firm Fined £20k Over Planning
A County Tyrone firm has been fined £20,000 after failure to comply with planning procedure.
Glenfort Timber Engineering Ltd., which operates out of a site at 36 Rossmore Road Dungannon, was fined £20,000 at Dungannon Magistrates' Court today.
The Company was found guilty for non compliance with a Department of the Environment (DOE) Planning Enforcement Notice.
The company was also made to pay £440 in legal costs and £10 court costs.
The enforcement notice had ordered the company to cease the use of an agricultural building and yard as a wood products business and remove all equipment and materials from the premises.

Belfast City Council To Reform Planning Services
Belfast City Council has announced it's intention to reform Planning Services, with a renewed focus on how it communicates with various customer groups. The announcement follows recommendations in a report it commissioned by Scotland's former Chief Planner, Jim Mackinnon CBE and broad consultation with a number of stakeholder groups.

Boost For Solar Energy Welcomed
Alliance South Down spokesperson, Councillor Patrick Clarke, has welcomed the announcement by the Environment Minister that schools, businesses and farm buildings will no longer need planning permission for solar panels. The change relates to micro generation equipment, including solar panels, which generate electricity or heat from sunlight.
