Carrick Road Closed Over Assault

A road has been closed in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, for a short time, following a suspected assault in the area.

Police sealed off the Victoria Road for a time on Thursday morning in order to carry out searches in the area.

It is believed four people were involved in the early morning incident, but none are thought to be seriously injured.

The road has since been opened to traffic. There are no further details at present.

Woman Killed In Co Armagh Road Collision
A woman in her 30s has been killed in a road crash in Portadown, Co Armagh. The woman was hit by a car as she was walking on the side of the Moy Road at around 9.45pm on Tuesday. The road was closed for a short time but it has been reopened. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

Police Appeal After Man Attacked In Co Antrim
Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked in Ballymena, Co Antrim. The assault happened in the North Road area at around 3.30am on Sunday, 29 January. A gang of four or five men attacked the victim, aged 37. He was taken to hospital where his condition has been described as "serious".
