One dies and another injured in house fire
Police believe the fire which killed a man in his north Belfast home early this morning was started deliberately.
The house at Woodvale Avenue was well alight by the time police and fire crews arrived at the scene at around 12.30am on Wednesday.
A second man was rescued by emergency services and taken to hospital where he is described as being in a "serious condition".
Police have called on anyone with information to contact them.

A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Man questioned about 1988 murder
A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Rescued man arrested following house fire
A man has been arrested after being rescued from a burning house in north Belfast last night. The man assaulted police officers after being rescued from the fire in the Manor Street area at around 11pm on Sunday. It is believed he set the house on fire after becoming embroiled in a row during a house party at the same address.
