Appeal Over Missing Ballymoney Man

An appeal has been launched over a 24-year-old man who has been missing since 16 July.

Michael Hannah is from the Ballymoney, County Antrim area and was last seen in the town on 16 July between 10:30 and 11:00 in the Westgate area.

Michael is described as being around 5'7" tall, of slim build with dark ginger hair and blue eyes. He is believed to have been wearing grey trousers, a red hooded top with a white stripe on the chest, a zip up blue hooded cardigan and white trainers.

Police are appealing to Michael or anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact detectives in Coleraine on the non emergency number 101.

East Belfast Security Alert Ends

A security alert in a residential area of east Belfast has ended after a suspicious object was declared to be "harmless".

The object was found in Dunraven Avenue shortly after 23:00 on Saturday.

The road was closed between Bloomfield Road and Grace Avenue for a time.

Residents were evacuated but were allowed to return home at about 01:30 on Sunday morning.

Man In Hospital After L'Derry Stabbing

A man is currently in hospital following a stabbing in L'Derry.

The victim is thought to be in a stable condition following the attack, which occurred in the Summer Meadows Park area of the city at around 03:00 on Sunday morning.

The man was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital for his injuries. A 44-year-old man has been arrested.

Co Armagh Farmer Fined

A County Armagh farmer has been convicted of contravening animal welfare regulations.

Mr William Cranston, Aughnagurgan Road, Altamackin, was convicted at Armagh Magistrates' Court on 18 July of two charges under the Trade in Animals and Related Products Regulations (NI) 2011.

He pleaded guilty and was fined £500 plus £37 costs and £15 offender’s levy.

This case arose from a number of "discrepancies" found at a Cattle Identification Inspection.

Police 'Seriously Concerned' For Missing Man David Duprey
Police are seriously concerned for the welfare of missing man David Duprey. Mr Duprey, 61, was last seen in Craigavon Area Hospital in Co Armagh at 9am on Wednesday. Police are urging the public to contact them if they have seen Mr Duprey as he needs "urgent medical treatment".

Two Injured In Weekend Stabbing
Two men have been injured in separate stabbing incidents at the weekend. In the first incident, a 27-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach in Cooke Street in the Ormeau Road area around 5:45am on Sunday. He is being treated in Belfast City Hospital, where his condition is described as critical.

Police Officer Resigns After Reducing Vulnerable Man To Tears
A police officer has resigned after he reduced a vulnerable man to tears with "insulting, spiteful and deliberately provocative language". The incident happened near Armagh city in March last year. The Police Ombudsman, Mrs Marie Anderson, commended three probationary police officers for raising concerns.

Man Arrested In Connection With Dromara Assault
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Rathfriland Road area of Dromara. Detective Inspector Bell said: "Shortly before 10:10pm on Friday 15th December, it was reported that an altercation occurred at a bar in the area following three men refused entry to the premises.

Man Dies In Portadown Road Crash
An 18-year-old man has died following a collision in Portadown. The crash happened on the Dungannon Road between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday, 08 November. The road has been re-opened. Elsewhere, a man, aged in his 30's, has died in a road collision in Co Antrim.
