viagogo To Open Operations Centre In Limerick
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD has announced that the viagogo Group, which operates viagogo.com, is to open a purpose-built international operations centre in Limerick, Ireland.
The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
With customers in around 100 countries, viagogo's global online platform helps people to buy and sell tickets to live sports, entertainment and theatre events all over the world. The Limerick operations centre is recruiting for a wide variety of technical and customer service roles for people with a range of skills and languages. Besides English, the centre is presently hiring German, French, Italian, and Spanish speakers as well.
The new operations centre is due to open later this year but, in the meantime, the company has already recruited a great team of people who are based at a temporary location in the city centre.
Minister Bruton TD said: "A key part of the Government's Action Plan for Jobs is reinforcing Ireland’s claim to be the internet capital of Europe. Most of the top names on the internet have chosen Ireland as their European base, and these companies employ thousands of people here.
"Today's announcement that viagogo is establishing its international operations centre in Limerick is a great boost and shows what is possible across the country with companies like this. I wish viagogo every success with this new project."
