71-Year-Old Arrested Over PSNI Vehicle Contracts
A 71-year-old man has been arrested in County Down by Detectives from Serious Crime Branch investigating the awarding of a number of PSNI vehicle contracts.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of bribery and procuring misconduct in public office and has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning.
The move follows the arrest of six people on 17 June.
Four men were arrested in Northern Ireland in counties Antrim, Down and Tyrone and two were arrested in England and are being brought to Northern Ireland for questioning.
The arrests relate to a range of offences including bribery, misconduct in public office and procuring misconduct in public office.
Those arrested in Northern Ireland include a 48-year-old police officer, a 37-year-old member of police staff, a 54-year-old former police officer and a 62-year-old civilian. The two people arrested in England are aged 34 and 54.
A number of searches at residential and business premises have also been carried out and several items seized. The suspects have been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning.

Two Men Arrested Over Tang Murder
Two men have been arrested on suspicion about the murder of Carrickfergus businessman Simon Tang over 16 years ago. The men, aged 36 and 38, were arrested on Wednesday morning and taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning. Mr Tang, was attacked and robbed outside his business in Carrickfergus. He was married with two sons.
