Security Alert In L'Derry
A security alert has been sparked in L'Derry following the discovery of a suspicious object.
The alert at the Eastway/Laburnum area was raised following discovery of the device. A number of residents have been evacuated.
An army bomb disposal team is attending the scene and diversions are in place.
SDLP Foyle MLA Pat Ramsey said: "People, especially the older residents in the area, are extremely worried. There are a number of schools and nurseries in the area and, while there is no information currently about what schools or nurseries are impacted, traffic may become an issue at pick-up time.
"Hopefully, the alert will end shortly. This is the last thing anyone in Derry needs or deserves."

Viable Pipe Bomb Found In West Belfast
A viable pipe bomb has been discovered during a security alert in west Belfast. The device was found in the Andersonstown area on Saturday night, 15 July. A number of residents had to be evacuated from their homes, however they have since returned. The device was made safe and has been retaken for further examination.

Security Alert Launched In Co Tyrone
The PSNI have launched a security alert in Dungannon, Co Tyrone. A suspicious object was discovered in the Fairmount Park area on Wednesday, 17 January. The road has been closed and a number of residents have been evacuated from their homes. No further information has been released.

'Small Bomb' Found During Security Alert
Army bomb experts have been called to examine an explosive device found at an apartment block in east Belfast. Police said that a number of residents were evacuated from the apartments in the Short Strand Road area at about 20:00 on Tuesday night. They described the device as a "small bomb". No further details have been released.

Families have been evacuated from their L'Derry homes amid reports of a suspicious device in the area. A police operation in the vicinity of Clon Elagh, just off the Skeoge Road, was sparked this afternoon, Monday 15 April, after an object was discovered. Local residents have been asked to evacuate the area as a precaution. Police are at the scene.

Residents have been forced to evacuate their homes in north Belfast following a report of a suspicious object in the area.
