Martin McGuinness Will Meet Queen

Martin McGuinness has confirmed that he will meet the Queen during her visit with the Duke of Edinburgh to Northern Ireland later this month. The visit has been planned for 23 - 25 June.

Deputy First Minister and Sinn Féin MLA Martin McGuinness said: "In my capacity as Deputy First Minister and as a representative of all our people I will be meeting with Queen Elizabeth. The visit by Queen Elizabeth is an opportunity to demonstrate mutual respect and to further build on the process of reconciliation. Despite the current difficulties I am determined to provide positive forward thinking political leadership."

Northern Ireland Secretary of State Theresa Villiers said: "I am absolutely delighted that Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Northern Ireland at the end of June.
