New Guidance To Help Tourism Accommodation
Invest Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board have jointly developed new guidance to help people start up and run successful tourism accommodation businesses.
The guidance, published on Invest NI's nibusinessinfo.co.uk website, comes at a time when Northern Ireland tourism is presented with unmatched opportunities to capitalise on the legacy of the world popular Game of Thrones and sporting spectacles such as Giro d’Italia and the Irish Open.
This dedicated resource comprises 16 new guides which cover a wide range of topics, including advice on starting up in the industry, meeting the sector-specific licensing requirements, achieving NITB certification and quality grading. There is also information on booking contracts, guest registers, dealing with guests, health and safety, business regulations, and finding support and opportunities to grow and expand.
Travel is no longer just about where you've been – it's about what you did while you were there. Businesses will also find guidance on how to make the most of local attractions, activities and events to create distinctive Northern Ireland tourism experiences for their visitors.
Commenting on the new guidance Shauna Fenton, Manager of the nibusinessinfo.co.uk website, said: "The guidance was developed in collaboration with the NITB and is an example of the high quality content that is an output of joint-working between the two organisations.
"The guidance gives practical advice on the key issues to be addressed when starting or growing a tourism business and is an excellent resource for everyone involved in the tourist accommodation industry.
"To get the full benefit of the guidance we’d encourage people to sign up to become nibusinessinfo.co.uk members. They will then get emails about updated information that's added to the site, such as regulation changes, events and funding support."
