Man charged with conspiracy to murder
A man has appeared in court today charged with conspiracy to murder a Belfast man who was shot dead in his flat in March.
David Barnes, 39, was killed as he lay asleep in his bed alongside his girlfriend at his flat in Brookvale Avenue on 8 March.
David Somers, 22, an unemployed man with no fixed address, replied "definitely not guilty" when the charge was read out today at Belfast Magistrate's Court.
He is the fifth person to be tried in court in connection to Mr Somers murder.
Mr Somers was remanded in custody until 10 July.

Police received a report at around 10.30pm on Tuesday night that a man had been seriously assaulted on the Greenville Road in the Beersbridge Road area of the city.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A man shot in the chest by a police officer following an incident in L'Derry has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.The 42-yet-old suspect was arrested on Monday, 19 April, following the shooting in the Celandine Court area on Saturday, 17 April. He is being treated in hospital and is to be questioned by the PSNI in due course.

Man Found Dead In Banbridge Named
A man found dead in Banbridge, Co Down, has been named as Richard Gerard Scullion. A murder investigation has launched after his body was found at a house in the Millmount court area on Monday, 09 July. A 28-year-old man arrested on Monday remains in police custody after the PSNI were granted an extension.
