Dickson Condemns Arson Attack On Church
Alliance East Antrim MLA, Stewart Dickson, has condemned those responsible for an arson attack on Whiteabbey Methodist Church on Saturday night.
Three fires were started, causing damage to the kitchen, however fire crews were able to stop the fire spreading.
Mr Dickson MLA said: "It is disgraceful that anyone would seek to attack a place of worship. It is difficult to understand the mindset of those responsible for this despicable crime. This was a sickening attack carried out by those with no respect for other people's religious beliefs. I know many of the people in the congregation and this was the church of my late parents, so I am particularly disgusted by this arson attack.
"There is a good relationship between the churches in the area, and I am glad that the local community has worked together to ensure that services could go ahead on Sunday."
