Executive 'Failing To Support Agri-Food' - Lo
The Alliance Party European candidate Anna Lo has accused the Executive of failing to "agree a way forward to support the agri-food sector."
Ms Lo made the comments at the Balmoral Show, currently underway at the Maze former prison site, where the Executive's 'Going For Growth' agri-food strategy was launched last year.
"While the Executive has failed to find a way forward to support the agri-food sector, I am aiming high for a key sector that could massively boost our economy," she said "Our agri-food sector provides nearly 100,000 jobs and has sales of over £4bn, yet the Executive has failed to support this industry.
"Northern Ireland has some outstanding produce, yet we are not fully maximising the potential that exists in this sector. This is yet another example of the Executive failing to reach agreement on a key issue that could help economic growth. I am very frustrated that this strategy appears to have been left in limbo for a number of months with very little possibility of action."
