Student Accommodation Proposal Submitted
Newtownards-based McNeill Properties have submitted plans for new student accommodation next to the University of Ulster's new Belfast campus.
An existing building would be demolished to build the nine-storey, 200 bedroom accommodation block at the junction of York Street and Frederick Street.
The planning application describes the block as "fully managed" en-suite study bedrooms with communal kitchens serving five rooms.
The new accommodation block would serve the new £250m campus currently being built, and would be promoted as "car free" living.
The McNeill proposal is the second to be submitted for student accommodation at the UU campus.

Teenager detained after healthcare centre fire
A teenager has been detained by police following a fire at a healthcare centre in south Belfast on Monday. All the patients in the ward at Knockbracken Healthcare Park were safely evacuated after the blaze broke out at around 9.30pm. Patients from the ward spent the night in alternative accommodation within the hospital grounds.
