Defibrillator Stolen From Parked Ambulance

A privately-operated ambulance has been broken into and a defibrillator stolen when it was parked at Altnagelvin Hospital in Londonderry.

It is believed that the drivers side window was smashed on Monday.

The damage and theft, which included a sat nav and two mobile phones, was not noticed until Tuesday.

Police have appealed for any witnesses or any one with information to contact them.

NI Ambulance Service Recruiting Helicopter Paramedics
Northern Ireland Ambulance Service is recruiting for new helicopter paramedics to be based at the Air Ambulance base at Maze Long Kesh in Lisburn and Emergency Ambulance Control at NIAS HQ in Belfast. Successful candidates will join the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) team which is made up of 15 doctors and seven paramedics.

Ambulance Crew Involved In M1 Crash
An ambulance crew has been involved in a crash in Belfast as they were attempting to resuscitate a young baby on the M1 motorway. The crew had been flagged down on Kennedy Way to help an infant who had stopped breathing, when a lorry collided with the ambulance at 11am today. The lorry was approaching the Broadway roundabout.

Newtownabbey House Targeted In Petrol Bomb Attack
A house in Newtownabbey was the target of a petrol bomb attack on Monday evening, 15 October. The attack happened in the Plantation Avenue area of the town shortly after 10pm. The windows of the house and a car parked outside both had scorch damage. No one was injured in the attack, however it is understood residents were left shaken.

New Clamping And Removal Operation Launched
A new clamping and removal operation for illegally parked vehicles in urban clearways and bus lanes in Belfast has been launched. Drivers who park illegally the main arterial routes into and out of Belfast may have their vehicles removed and clamped.
