Junction One Worth Less Than 10% Of 2009 Valuation

The latest accounts posted by Junction One Ltd, which runs the Junction One shopping centre, have revealed that the centre is now valued at £7.85m.

This is down from it valuation of almost £80m in 2009.

The accounts cover the 18 months to March 2013 and reveal that the outlet retail centre is now valued at less than 10% of what it was worth five years ago.

The latest valuation was carried out in May 2013, and saw the centre's value reduced from £30.3m to £7.85m.

The company is partially under control of an administrator after one of its main shareholders was placed in administration last year.

NI Unemployment Rate Increases
The Northern Ireland unemployment rate continues to rise, according to figures release today by the Northern Ireland Statistics & Research Agency (NISRA). Unemployment stood at 7.5% for the period August - October 2013, indicating an increase of 0.6% on the previous quarter and a fall of 0.3% on a year ago.

Stolen Car Rams Shop In Belfast
Police are appealing for information after a stolen car rammed into the shutters of a shop in the Wellington Place area of Belfast in the early hours of Sunday morning. A white Volkswagen Passat, which had earlier been stolen from the Bangor area, drove into the shutter of the shop at approximately 3.30am.

NI Man Killed In ROI Collision
A man from Northern Ireland has been killed in a crash in the Republic of Ireland. The crash occurred on the M1 southbound junction outside Drogheda on Thursday afternoon. The man, believed to be in his 40's, died at the scene. The lorry he was driving struck a van and overturned on the roadside embankment.

Bishop Street In L'Derry To Be Resurfaced
Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £175,000 major resurfacing scheme on Bishop Street, Londonderry, this week. The work is due to begin on Monday 29 July 2013 between the junction at Abercorn Road and the junction with Foyle Road and will last for five weeks.
