8over8 To Create 10 Jobs

8over8 is to create 10 jobs in L'Derry it has been announced.

The software company will be based at the £12m North West Regional Science Park.

The science park is based at Fort George and is expected to open this summer.

The 50,000sq ft site is based on a similar format of the Northern Ireland Science Park in Belfast's Titanic Quarter.

8Over8, which develops risk management software, will be used by companies in the oil, gas and mining industries to manage large infrastructure projects.

The firm also has offices in North America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East, but chief executive Clare Colhoun said the core of its team would be in Derry.

She said: "We saw a niche in 2000 when we set up with a team of just 15.

"With an ever increasing international demand for our software, our business plan calls for more than 20 additional hires across the company this year, and ten of these are expected to be in Derry."
