Fresh Appeal Over Belfast Murder
Police from the Serious Crime Branch have issued a fresh appeal over the murder of Kieran McManus.
Mr McManus, 26, was killed near Kennedy Way, west Belfast, in March last year.
On the first anniversary of his death, detectives have released CCTV footage of the victim which was filmed shortly before he died.
McManus died after being shot outside Domino's pizza outlet at the DC Enterprise Centre, and the surveillance footage shows him in his pizza delivery uniform getting change at a garage shortly before he returns in his silver Passat car to the outlet at Kennedy Way where he was murdered.
The father-of-one was shot by a man who got out of a maroon coloured Vauxhall Astra car at around 11.20pm on 30 March 2013. Mr McManus was taken to hospital with his injuries but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Astra car that was used in the attack was later found abandoned and burnt out in Denewood Park, off the Anderstown Road.
In a fresh appeal, police have now asked anyone who saw the maroon Astra car, before or after the shooting. They would also like to hear from anyone who saw any other vehicles in the area that night between 11pm and midnight.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Justyn Galloway said: "One year on from this ruthless murder, the police investigation is continuing. Kieran worked as a pizza delivery driver, trying to earn a living for his family. This was a ruthless and reckless attack, given the number of people in the area at the time.
"Those responsible for this ruthless murder will only be brought before the courts if people with information work with police. In the past year we have interviewed 107 civilian witnesses, conducted nine searches and made one arrest. We are ready and willing to progress this challenging investigation but we need people to work with us."
Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on 028 9180 1507 or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
