Up To 200 Jobs At Risk At Belfast Call Centre
Almost 200 jobs are to be cut at a north Belfast call centre in what has been described as a "devastating blow" for the area.
According to reports a total of 197 jobs will be lost at Teletech, after the US-owned call centre lost a contract with car maker, Nissan.
The company had supplied European sales support for the manufacturer but has lost the contract to French company B2S.
Commenting on the news, north Belfast MLA Gerry Kelly said: "If these reports are true then it is a devastating blow to north Belfast and to the workers and their families.
"North Belfast is an area of high unemployment and this jobs blow would be hugely significant.
"The reports that up to one third of the 600 strong workforce might lose their jobs has sent shockwaves across the local community."
