Jean McConville Accused Granted Bail

The High Court in Belfast has granted bail to 77-year-old Ivor Bell, the man arrested last week in connection with the 1972 disappearance of Jean McConville.

One of 'The Disappeared', victims of the IRA whose bodies have never been recovered, mother-of-10 Jean McConville was taken from her flat and murdered in December 1972.

According to reports, the case against Mr Bell is based on an interview he gave to Boston College researchers, for a series of interviews with former republican and loyalist paramilitaries compiled as an oral history of the Troubles.
