Bomb Alert At Belfast Tomb Street Post Office

A suspicious package has been discovered at Belfast's central postal sorting office.

Staff at the Tomb Street office reported that package this morning (Monday) leading to a security alert.

The area surrounding the sorting office have been cordoned and army bomb disposal experts are at the scene.

Police say the situation is ongoing.

Bomb Found At Mail Sorting Office
A Royal Mail sorting office has been evacuated after a bomb was found on the premises in Mallusk, County Antrim. The device was discovered at around 11.45am on Wednesday morning. The building was evacuated for over six hours before the army disarmed what police called "a viable and unstable device".

Suspect device sent to DPP member
A suspect device has been sent to a member of a district policing partnership in Co Down. SDLP councillor Michael Carr received the device by post to his home in Warrenpoint. Army bomb experts were immediately called to the scene and made safe the package. Cllr Carr said he believed the device had been sent by dissident republicans.
