Men Arrested Over Tryone Fuel Laundering
Three men have been arrested by HM Customs as part of investigations into fuel fraud.
Customs and police officers raided a business premises and seized a number of vehicles seized in County Tyrone on Wednesday evening.
It is reported that six commercial and one private vehicle were seized, along with nearly 3,000 litres of suspected illegal fuel.
The three men, who are all from County Tyrone, have been released on bail.
Further Arrests Over £450k Cannabis Haul
Two more people have been arrested by detectives investigating a £450k haul of cannabis in east Belfast.
A 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were detained in the Hollycroft Avenue area on Wednesday evening on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering.
About £36k in cash was also seized by officers.
The arrests follow the seizure of £450k of herbal cannabis during a raid in the Hollycroft Avenue area on 24 February, during which two other people were charged.
Foyle Food Fined For Pollution
Foyle Food Group has been fined for breaching its' Pollution Prevention and Control Permit at Londonderry Magistrates’ Court today.
The company pleaded guilty and was fined £750 plus court costs of £20.
The breach related to the Foyle Proteins rendering plant at Lisahally. On 13 March 2012, an NIEA inspector found that a large quantity of animal by products had been spilled below the raw material reception area in the plant, which was contrary to the requirements of the permit.
Despite this the plant kept operating and processing more material.
Three Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
Three people were convicted at Londonderry Magistrates court yesterday for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
25-year-old Adele Gallagher of Ardnamoyle Park, L'Derry claimed Income Support totalling £3,082 while failing to declare employment. She was given a conditional discharge for two years and ordered to pay court costs of £31.
Maria Porter, 47, of Forest Park, L'Derry claimed Income Support totalling £3,021 while failing to declare employment. She was given a conditional discharge for two years and ordered to pay court costs of £40.
Aiden Devine, 37, of Dereen Drive, L'Derry claimed Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £2,536 while failing to declare employment. He was given a conditional discharge for two years.

Damien Laverty (34) of Glenbaw Park, Dunmurry claimed Jobseekers Allowance totalling £6,746 while failing to declare employment. He was given a four-month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to pay court costs of £40.

Fraudsters are being made to pay the price for claiming a variety of benefits they were not entitled to. A total of 14 people were convicted at Belfast Magistrates' court yesterday with Joanne McBride (35) of Portallo Street, Belfast claiming Income Support totalling £4,451 while failing to declare she was working.

He was fined £500 and ordered to pay court costs of £34.

Benefit Fraudsters Given Prison Terms
Two people have been handed down prison sentences for separate cases of benefit fraud. A woman was convicted at Dungannon Magistrates' court earlier this week for claiming benefits she was not entitled to. She is Mary Campbell, 52, of Loughview Gardens, Coalisland, Co Tyrone.
