KPL Contracts Enter Administration

Utilities company KPL Contracts has been placed in administration.

The Dungiven, Co Londonderry-based company carries out work for BT, NIE, and NI Water.

It is understood that while that part of the firm has done well, the company also holds large borrowings over property developments.

The company employes around 200 people but speculation over its future had begun at the start of the week.

The role of the administrators has not yet been made clear.
