NI 'Prime Location For Investment' - Robinson

Northern Ireland is a "prime location to invest and grow business".

This was the message sent by First Minister Peter Robinson as he addressed the Irish Chamber of Commerce at an event in Belfast City Hall last night.

Mr Robinson was addressing international business leaders and politicians and ahead of the Chamber’s second annual conference taking place at Titanic Belfast today.

"The Northern Ireland Executive has made growing our economy its number one priority and we will explore all opportunities to create economic growth," he said.

"Improving economic climate in Great Britain and the emergence of the Republic of Ireland from its economic problems are certainly welcome developments for the local economy.

"I commend the Chamber of Commerce on the important work it does in supporting businesses across Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. I welcome the creation of the British/Irish Chamber of Commerce, a true indication of the ever improving relationship between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland."

The First Minister went on to say that 75% of new investors in Northern Ireland have re-invested.

"This sends a strong signal to the rest of the world that Northern Ireland is a prime location to invest and grow your business," he said.
