Arrest Following Cannabis Seizure

Police have arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of a number of drugs offences.

The arrest follows the search of a house in the Oldtown Road area of Bushmills, on Thursday morning.

Officers arrived at the house after reports of suspicious activity. During the search, police found a large number of suspected cannabis plants with an approximate value of more than £35,000.

The plants, along with other items in the property, have been seized.

In a statement, the PSNI said the man remains in custody and is helping with enquiries.

Commenting, Moyle Commander Brenda Cairns, said: "Local officers have been working with the community to tackle the issue of drug supply and distribution. There can be no place for illegal drugs in safe societies.

"The seizure of these suspected drugs is an indication of our commitment to removing any type of drugs from circulation. Through seizures of this kind, we are reducing the harm that is caused to the community."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
