Bank Apologises For Late Payments

The Bank of Ireland UK has offered an apology to its customers after a delay in processing payments.

On Monday, a spokesperson for the bank said the glitch affects some customers who are expecting payments to arrive into their accounts today (3 February). They added that the money should appear in the relevant account by close of business.

The reason for the problem has been given as a "delay in processing a file".

In a statement, the bank continued: "Bank of Ireland UK can confirm that some of our customers may have experiences a delay in receiving payments into their accounts.

"Payments due for posting on Monday 3 February can sometimes appear in customer's accounts on Saturday or Sunday. However on this occasion they will not appear in some customer accounts until close of business on Monday 3 February.

"This is due to a delay in processing a file. The Bank would like to apologise to any customers inconvenienced."

It added that anyone who has been affected by the delay, or who needs access to the funds sooner, should contact their branch.
