New Chair Appointed To The Board Of National Museums NI

Culture Minister Carál Ní Chuilín has announced the appointment of a new Chair and seven Trustees to the Board of National Museums NI.

After an open competition, the following people have been appointed for a term of four years with effect from 1 January 2014:

  • Mr Micheal McCoy (Chair)
  • Professor Michael Catto (Trustee)
  • Professor Garth Earls (Trustee)
  • Mrs Hazel Francey (Trustee)
  • Dr Leon Litvack (Trustee)
  • Dr George McIlroy (Trustee)
  • Mrs Catherine Molloy (Trustee)
  • Dr Margaret Ward (Trustee).


The Minister said: "Each of the new appointees brings considerable experience and a diverse range of skills. National Museums NI provides a valuable service in protecting and promoting our culture and heritage, as well as contributing to social inclusion and tourism.

"The new appointments will ensure that National Museums continues to reach across all sections of our community in providing opportunities for all to learn and engage."
