Suspended Sentence For Marian Price
Marian Price, the Old Bailey bomber, has been given a suspended sentence for aiding dissident republican terrorists, it has been reported.
On Tuesday, Price, who now goes by the name Marian McGlinchey, was given a 12-month jail term, suspended for three years.
In November 2013, McGlinchey admitted to providing a mobile phone which was used by the Real IRA to claim responsibility for the murders of two soldiers at Massereene Army Barracks.
Sappers Mark Quinsey and Patrick Azimkar were shot dead as they collected a pizza delivery at the front of the army barracks in Co Antrim in March 2009.
Handing down the sentence, a judge is quoted as saying the risk of re-offending was low. He said that while 59-year-old McGlinchey had a significant conviction for terrorism, due to her role in the Old Bailey Bombing in 1973, she was now suffering from "poor and deteriorating" health, and as a result, could face a risk of severe depression if she was to return to prison.
In addition to the above charge, McGlinchey admitted aiding and abetting the addressing of a meeting to encourage support for terrorism. This charge related to a separate incident which occurred at a dissident republican rally in Londonderry in April 2011. She received a nine-month sentence.
It was ruled that both sentences should run concurrently, which the judge then suspended for three years.
Following the sentencing, a spokesman for PSNI Serious Crime Branch said: "Despite today's sentencing, and previous acquittals, the investigation remains open.
"Police would appeal to anyone with any information about those involved in these murders to contact them.
"The tragic outcome of those events in March 2009 is that the Azimkar and Quinsey families are facing another year without their brothers and son.
"Anyone who knows anything about the murders or can assist in any way with the investigation should do the right thing and talk to police on 0845 600 8000."

Nelson Cheung Murder: Four People Sentenced
Four people have been sentenced over the murder of businessman Nelson Cheung. Mr Cheung, who owned a Chinese restaurant in Randalstown, was stabbed 18 times in January 2015. His wife Winnie was also hurt in the attack. Virgilio Correia was sentenced to 16 years in prison for the murder.

Death Driver's Two-Year Jail Term 'Insult'
The man found guilty of being the drunk hit-and-run driver who killed a Derry teenager has been given a jail term that amounts to two years in custody. David Leo Brennan died in April after he was knocked down on Madam's Bank Road Londonderry by a 21-year-old man who later set fire to his car and took a taxi home.

Benefit Frauds 'Jailed' For False Claims
Three benefit frauds from across NI have been handed down gaol sentences for defrauding the Government of money to which they were not entitled. James Logue (45) of Main Street, Castlederg was convicted at Strabane Magistrates' court after he claimed Housing Benefit totalling £2,057 by making a false statement of occupation.
