American Law Firm May Invest In NI
SDLP Foyle MLA Mark H Durkan has spoken of his hope a leading American law firm, which he has been in talks with in recent months, will invest in the city.
Speaking about news SmithDehn could be about to bring up to 75 jobs to Derry, Mr Durkan said: "Since the summer of this year I have been in contact with senior partners within the law firm SmithDehn working to foster good relations in an aim to bring investment to the city.
"I am delighted the firm has recently revealed it hopes to set up their European office right here in Derry. Those I have spoken with have hinted that this global organisation could bring up to 75 high quality jobs.
"This is exactly the investment we need here in Derry with our high skilled workforce, as well as having a legal qualifying body on our doorstep in the University of Ulster Magee campus."
