Fireworks Injuries Hit Lowest Level On Record

Injuries caused by fireworks in Northern Ireland in 2013 were at the lowest level since records began, according to the Department of Health.

New figures released by the department show that during the Halloween 2013 period, six people reported to an emergency care department with a firework related injury. This was eight fewer than in 2012.

Two of the six persons injured were aged under 18. All six of the people injured were male.

The six people attending emergency care had a total of six firework related injuries. The most common site of injury was to the face, head or neck.
