Four artists are in contention for the award.

They are Laure Prouvost, Tino Sehgal, David Shrigley and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye.

Established in 1984, the Turner Prize is awarded to a contemporary artist under the age of 50, living, working or born in Britain, who is judged to have put on the best exhibition over the last 12 months.

This is the first time the awards have been held outside England.
