DFP Will Not Fund Exploris
Exploris, the Co Down aquarium facing closure, will not be given any financial assistance by the Department of Finance
It is understood that, when asked, Finance Minister Simon Hamilton said: "Aquariums are not the responsibility of the DFP."
Exploris, in Portaferry, has been threatened with closure over concerns about its running costs.
Customers Hurt In Asda Disturbances During Promotion
A number of people have reported scenes of chaos at Asda stores across Northern Ireland over special "Black Friday" promotions being offered today.
It is understood that people have been injured in scuffles between customers and between security staff and customers.
According to reports, hundred of customers had queued for hours outside one Asda store advertising cut price TV's, only to find just 24 televisions available at the reduced price once they were allowed inside.
L'Derry In Irish City Of Culture Bid
Councillors in Londonderry have backed a bid to become the Irish City of Culture in five years' time.
The motion was proposed by Sinn Féin Councillor Barney O'Hagan, who said it would build on the legacy of Derry's "momentous" year as UK City of Culture.
It passed with cross-party support, after an amendment by the DUP's Maurice Devenny said that politics played no part in the bid and all communities would be included.
The Irish government said it had no plans at the moment to run the initiative on an all-island basis.

Belfast City Council has announced two free tours of of Belfast City Cemetery delivered in Irish, taking place this February and March. The tours will focus on the city's development in the nineteenth century and the people behind the revival of the Irish language, including the role of Protestant Irish enthusiasts.

SSE And Budget Energy Announce Price Increases
SSE and Budget Energy have both announced an increase in their Northern Irish electricity prices, affecting some 248,000 domestic customers. According to reports, Budget Energy prices will increase by 27% from 27 May, while SSE prices will rise by 33% from 01 June.

Primark Donates £500,000 To Support Businesses Affected By Fire
Retailer Primark is donating £500,000 to Belfast City Council's City Recovery Investment Fund. The fund is being set up after a number of businesses have been severely affected by the fire at the Bank Buildings which happened over three weeks ago. A cordon remains in place and 14 firms have been closed for up to four months.
