Parents Concerned After Claims Of Sex Offenders Living Near School

The parents of pupils at Our Lady's Grammar School in Newry have received letters from the school after claims that two sex offenders lived nearby.

The school sent letters home telling parent that pupils had been reminded to be vigilant when it comes to their personal safety.

However, it is understood that the offenders have since been moved away from the address near the school.

Police Seize 45,000 Valium Tablets During Search

Some 45,000 Valium tablets have been seized by police in north Belfast.

It is understood that two houses in the Ballysillan area were searched in a joint operation by the PSNI and the National Crime Agency.

Three men were arrested during the searches and later released.

Gun Recovered In Dunmurry Security Alert

Police in Dunmurry have recovered a gun during a security alert.

The firearm was found during a search of a vehicle on Wednesday morning at Kingsway.

The gun is being examined by Army bomb disposal experts.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
