AAM Creates 20 New Posts

Minister for Research and Innovation, Seán Sherlock, TD has announced that Arts Alliance Media (AAM) - one of the world's leading providers of digital cinema services - is to establish a Software Development Operation in Cork.

The new operation will create 20 jobs over a two-year period and will seek graduate and senior software developers to fill the roles.

The initiative is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.

Headquartered in London, Arts Alliance Media develops software for cinemas to import content, encode films and manage advertising. Additionally, they provide services including installation, maintenance and support for cinemas who wish to convert from 35mm to digital.

AAM was the first company in Europe to secure deals for digital cinema rollout with the Hollywood studios, and is now working around the world to roll out digital cinema. The company's software is currently installed on around 20,000 cinema screens worldwide.

Making the announcement, Minister Seán Sherlock said: "Today's announcement is great news for Cork and is further proof that Ireland is seen as an important location for international companies to grow and expand their business.

"One of the key goals of the Government's Action Plan for Jobs is to further the growth of the software sector in Ireland and provide much needed jobs for our people."
