Kettyle Irish Foods Scoops Business In The Gulf
Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster has announced that Kettyle Irish Foods has won business worth around £1m for premium beef and lamb in the Gulf.
The Minister made the announcement at the conclusion of an Invest Northern Ireland trade mission to Dubai.
The Lisnaskea-based company, part of Linden Foods, had been assisted by Invest NI to line up a distribution deal for its award winning dry-aged meats in key Gulf markets such as the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
Arlene Foster said: "This is immensely significant business for Kettyle Irish Foods in one of the fastest growing markets for premium quality food especially beef and lamb.
"The new business will provide Kettyle with a solid base for further growth in these and neighbouring markets in which the high quality, traceability and provenance of our meat and other foods in being increasingly recognised.
"Assisting the growth of such export-led and innovation-focused companies is central to the Agri-Food Strategy Board's 'Going for Growth - Investing in Success' action plan. I am committed to providing the necessary support for the action plan's key recommendations including a 75 per cent growth in sales outside Northern Ireland by 2020."

Fork Truck Accident Victim 'Brain Damaged'
Serious head injuries that left a factory worker with debilitating brain injury has seen the Co Tyrone food processor, Linden Foods heavily fined over an accident on its premises. Lucas Da Costa, 42, who is originally from East Timor, was struck by falling pallets at the company's factory in Dungannon in February 2010.
