Coleraine council ban multimedia phones in kids' areas
Coleraine council have banned mobile phones from children's areas in the borough.
The council made the decision fearing that multimedia phones could be used by paedophiles to photograph children.
While stressing the move was not in any reaction to any incident that happened at any of the facilities, a council spokesperson confirmed that parents would not be prevented from taking pictures at birthday parties held on council property.
The move follows similar decisions by other councils across Northern Ireland.
