Woman claims attack on home was sectarian

A north Belfast family have escaped injury after a brick was thrown through the front window of their home last night.

The occupant, a Protestant woman, said she believed the attack was sectarian and linked it to trouble at Holy Cross in Ardoyne earlier this week.

Mary Forsythe, along with her teenage son and daughter, and son's friend, were in the sitting room when the attack took place at around 10.30pm.

The woman said her home was just the latest in a numbers of houses in the Canbrai Street area to be attacked in the past.

The incident follows an attack on two Protestant teenagers outside Ardoyne shops on Monday night.

Progressive Unionist Party member Billy Hutchinson claimed the teenagers were attacked by nationalist youths.

One of the boys was treated in hospital for a serious head injury.
