IDA Ireland To Host Web Summit Event

IDA Ireland is preparing to greet the tech community this week when Dublin hosts the 4th Web Summit and f.ounders event from Wednesday 30th October - Saturday 2nd November.

With over 10,000 delegates, hundreds of start-ups and venture capitalists attending, IDA Ireland will be selling Ireland as a destination to locate international business – both in the start-up as well as the established business sectors.

IDA Ireland is partnering with f.ounders as part of the Web summit and has a number of activities running over the course of the event:

• IDA Ireland has scheduled a number of meetings with potential clients to attract new business to Ireland and will participate in networking events throughout the event

• During the week IDA expects to make an investment announcement with several of our high growth clients and will host an invite only reception with guests and international media in the House of Lords, College Green

• With Fáilte Ireland, IDA Ireland will be projecting iconic Dublin images on Trinity College Dublin and the House of Lords

• IDA will be participating in the NASDAQ Opening Bell event at Web Summit

• Promoting the @IDAIRELAND hastag #WhyIreland

• Communicate the benefits of doing business in Dublin to delegates through a series of Vines

IDA Ireland annual report reveals 2001 to be 'a tough year'
In its latest annual report, the investment and development agency IDA Ireland has said that last year was one of the toughest because of the downturn in global economies. In its report, the agency reported a net job loss in companies it supported of 4,000 during 2001.
