Monkeys Escape From Belfast Zoo
A search is continuing across the city of Belfast for two monkeys after they escaped from their enclosure at Belfast Zoo.
On Monday, six lion-tailed macaques managed to flee their enclosure.
Four have since been returned, while the remaining two - named Jade and Roxy - have been spotted in the grounds or near the zoo.
One of the recaptured monkeys was captured by zoo keepers in the grounds of Belfast Castle.
Another was found sitting on the top of a fence at Hazelwood Integrated School, on the Whitewell Road. The school contacted the zoo, but the monkey is said to have escaped before zookeepers arrived to catch it.
Belfast Zoo manager, Mark Challis, said: "We are confident that all of the macaques will soon be found and returned to their enclosure.
"If anyone sees the lion-tailed macaques we would ask them to contact the zoo immediately.
"Although they pose no danger to the public, we would ask that you do not attempt to approach or catch the animal."
Anyone who spots the missing animals are asked to contact the zoo on 028 9077 6277.
