City Of Culture Venue To Be Taken Down
Londonderry's concert space for the City of Culture year, the Venue, is to be dismantled at the end of the year.
The £4m venue has been funded by the Department for Social Development, who have said that no private sector investor has expressed interest in taking on the site.
The Venue is based at the former Ebrington Barracks in Derry.
40 Fire Fighters Tackle Blaze At Former School
Some 40 firefighter were needed to tackle a blaze at the derelict site of the Faughan Valley High School in Londonderry.
Eight fire crews attended the former campus on the Drumahoe Road after receiving a call round 20:30 on Wednesday.
It is believed that the fire was accidental.
Nude Turner Sculpture Being Avoided
A sculpture of a nude man currently on show as part of the Turner prize exhibition has caused controversy.
Accordng to reports a number of school groups have avoided the David Shrigley sculpture, which shows a naked man urinating in a bucket, while viewing the prestigious exhibition.
The exhibition open yesterday in Derry, marking the first time in its history that it has been shown outside England.
It is understood that schools have chosen to avoid the sculpture to avoid causing offence to pupils of parents.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.
