Third Man Arrested In Connection With 1993 UVF Murder

A 46-year-old man has been arrested I England by officers investigating the 1993 murder of Joseph Reynolds in east Belfast.

Mr Reynold was travelling to work on 12 October 1993 when his van was ambushed by UVF gunmen on Sydenham Road.

The latest arrest is the third to be made since the investigation was reopened by detectives last week.

A 54-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the 1993 murder of Joseph Reynolds. UVF gunmen ambushed Mr Reynolds van on Sydenham Road as he was driving to work on 12 October 1993. Three others were injured in the attack. The investigation into the murder was reopened last year, with a number of arrests being made.

Man Arrested Over 1993 UVF Murder
A 50-year-old man has been arrested by detectives investigating the UVF murder of a man in east Belfast 20 years ago. The arrest follows the reopening of the investigation last week. PSNI officers were operating in parts of east Belfast, distributing leaflets and posters and asking for help from the local community.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Joseph Reynolds Murder - Man Arrested
A 41-year-old man has been arrested in east Belfast by detectives investigating the murder of Joseph Reynolds in 1993. The arrest follows the reopening of the investigation last month. 40-year-old Joseph Reynolds, from west Belfast, was travelling to work as a subcontractor painter at Shorts aircraft factory when his van was ambushed by gunmen.
