Flash Flood Warning

Drivers are being asked to take care on the roads ahead of flooding showers that are expected to begin tonight and continue into Saturday evening.

The Met Office said: "Rain arriving on Friday is expected to turn heavy at times, especially during the evening and on Saturday morning.

"The public are advised to be aware of the risk of localised flooding."

A yellow warning has been issued, covering the eastern half of Northern Ireland.

The PSNI has also warned of surface water on the M2.

Motorists are being advised to exercise caution while on the motorway in the heavy rain.

Flood Warning As Heavy Downpours Expected
It's set to be a rainy weekend with heavy downpours forecast for Saturday, 09 November. The Met Office warned of a chance of flooding and travel disruption as the band of heavy rain sweeps Northern Ireland, mainly across the east. A yellow weather alert will be in place for counties Antrim, Armagh and Down from 5am until 8pm.

'Yellow' Warning As Heavy Rain Expected
The UK Met Office has issued a 'yellow' weather warning for Northern Ireland for Sunday, when heavy rain and strong winds are likely to cause localised flooding across the region. Wet and windy weather will cross the UK from the west during Sunday. Rainfall accumulations of 15 to 25mm are expected quite widely with 35mm or more locally.

Yellow Weather Warning For Heavy Rain Issued Across NI
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain across Northern Ireland. The warning comes into place at noon until 9pm on Friday, 14 July. Strong winds are also expected around the coast and some flooding of homes and businesses is possible. Motorists are also being warned to expect difficult driving conditions.
