Brother of missing loyalist makes appeal

The brother of a missing loyalist has appealed for information on his whereabouts.

Kenny McCullough said his family where "deeply distressed" following the disappearance of his 21-year-old brother Alan.

Police believe Mr McCullough may have been murdered.

Sources also indicate that the UDA are behind his disappearance.

Mr McCullough had just returned to Northern Ireland after fleeing the province with supporters of former UDA C Company chief Johnny Adair. This followed a feud among UDA members earlier this year.

Meanwhile, police have released a 40-year-old man questioned about Mr McCullough's disappearance.

The man, from north Belfast, was released without charge after being arrested on Saturday evening.

Elsewhere, police have ended their search of a north Belfast reservoir for Mr McCullough. The reservoir in the Waterworks Park proved to hold no clues to his disappearance.

Police are continuing to search elsewhere with a possible lead in Carrickfergus.
