Bus driver injured in knife attack
A bus driver has suffered knife wounds to his arm after being attacked in a north Belfast bus terminal last night.
At around 7pm three masked men dragged the driver from his bus at the Westland Road terminus on the Oldpark Road. A struggle unfolded between the man and his attackers who were armed with knives and hammers.
He was subsequently injured during the struggle before the gang escaped with a box of coins from the bus.
The attackers are thought to have approached the vehicle from the Westland Estate area before making off towards that area immediately afterwards.
The victim was unable to give police any descriptions of his attackers.

The bus strike "is back on", the GMB Union has announced after their members rejected a revised pay offer. The union has said that drivers, cleaners and shunters across the company will walk out for seven days from 17 to 23 May 2022, "causing the entire bus network to grind to a halt".

First Minister condemns attack on bus driver
First Minister, David Trimble has condemned an assault on a bus driver in Londonderry over the weekend. The driver was taking home elderly passengers after a day trip to Donegal. However he was assaulted after stopping off in the Creggan estate on Sunday evening. A car stopped in front of the bus before two masked men got out and attacked the man.

Petrol Bomb Thrown At Bus In West Belfast
Buses had to be suspended in an area of west Belfast last weekend following a petrol bomb attack. A petrol bomb was thrown at a bus in the Lagmore View area just after 10.20pm on Saturday, 09 July. Unite the union condemned the attack and said it put the lives of passengers and driver onboard at risk.

A bus full of tourist visitors was twice 'rammed' by a hit-and-run driver in Londonderry at the weekend. The news emerged yesterday as the SDLP Foyle MP Mark Durka condemned the attack in the Bogside area of Derry City. He said: "The local community is shocked and disgusted to learn of this attack.
