Man Rescued After Boat Sinks In County Down
The Coastguard have rescued a man from the water after a boat sunk off the coast of Portavogie, Co Down.
At around 12.30pm on Wednesday, emergency services were alerted and lifeboats were sent to the scene.
A rescue helicopter from Dublin was also called.
The condition of the man is not known, however he has been taken to Musgrave Park Hospital.

Fishermen Rescued By Helicopter
The coastguard has rescued seven men after their fishing boat ran into trouble off the North Coast. Two lifeboats and the Irish Coastguard helicopter joined the Mulroy Coatguard cliff and rescue team to perform the rescue operation at 3.30am on Tuesday.

The official challenge between Queen's University Belfast and Trinity College Dublin took place yesterday at Queen's Boat Club on the River Lagan to launch the second University Boat Race. This unique head to head rowing event, which mirrors the Oxford Cambridge Boat race, saw Trinity take home last year’s trophy beating Queen's by four lengths.

Search for boy continued by volunteers
Despite the official search being stood down on Monday, teams of local volunteers are continuing the search for the boy swept off a Co Down pier on Sunday. Jordan Murdoch, 14, fell off the pier in Killough at lunchtime on Sunday, but a number of volunteers have pledged to continue a search of the shoreline in the area today.

Man Rescued By Helicopter from Rathlin Island
A man in his 70s has been airlifted to hospital after becoming trapped in his 4x4 on Rathlin Island in County Antrim. The man's vehicle went off road and rolled down an embankment onto the shoreline near Ballynagard Cottages at about 07:00 on Wednesday morning.

Search for missing fishermen locates wrecked boat
The wreckage of a fishing boat which sank off the coast of County Down has been located on the seabed, but weather conditions prevented further investigation of the wreck on Friday afternoon and as dusk fell hopes of finding the two missing men alive had faded.
