Ballyclare Bomb Alert Declared A Hoax

Danny Kinahan, Ulster Unionist MLA for South Antrim, has condemned those responsible for a bomb alert near Ballyclare Police Station this morning.

Local people had to be evacuated from their homes and children making their way to school were also put at risk.

Mr Kinahan said: "I condemn those responsible for the bomb alert near Ballyclare Police Station this morning. They are a menace to society and plainly oblivious to the hurt and inconvenience which they have caused to the Ballyclare community.

"The Ballyclare community will be grateful for the work of the PSNI and Army Technical Officers who put themselves in harm's way to ensure the community's safety. I give them my personal thanks for doing what they do on our behalf. The sooner that this alert is brought to an end, the better, so that people can go about their normal business, whether that is at home, in work or at school."
