Belfast Orange Hall Attacked
An Orange Hall in Belfast has been targeted in another sectarian attack.
A number of paint bombs were thrown at Clifton Street Orange Hall, near Carlisle Circus in the north of the city, during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
It is the second time the hall has been attacked in as many weeks and the sixth time since July last year.
Belfast County Grand Master, George Chittick, condemned the actions of the perpetrators and accused republicans of waging a "relentless hate campaign" on the historic property.
"We absolutely deplore the latest paint bombing of Clifton Street Orange Hall," he said.
"Brethren in north Belfast are to be greatly commended for their resolve and fortitude, despite such blatant sectarian harassment and the stoking of tensions by republicans. Their quiet dignity stands in stark contrast to the mindless idiocy of those who simply have no respect or tolerance for a differing viewpoint.
"I would appeal yet again for calm and for such wanton vandalism to stop - once and for all."
Mr Chittick also called for anyone with information regarding the attack to pass it on to the police as a matter of urgency.
