Newtown Welcomes New Jobs

East Belfast DUP MLA and member of the Assembly's Enterprise, Trade & Investment Committee Robin Newton has welcomed the good news of new high-tech jobs by local firm MicroSense Solutions Ltd who have been supported by Invest NI.

Mr Newton said: "The company is developing a high technology security solution with an enviable intruder detection zone. A futuristic solution adding to current CCTV installations.

"This is easily the type of company Northern Ireland needs to encourage, develop and promote.

"The financial investment of £580k by the directors confirms their confidence in the products potential. MicroSense Solutions has been developed from a Research and Development work at Queens University and it is this type of spin out company we need more of in Northern Ireland. Commercialising R&D activity needs greater emphasise within our economic strategy."
