Appeal Launched Over Dromore Deaths
Police in Dromore have launched an appeal for information, following the arrest of a man as part of investigations into the deaths of three women in the area over the past 11 years.
A 66-year-old man was detained in the town yesterday morning and was taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning.
47-year-old Michelle Bickerstaff died in April last year, 50-year-old Margaret Weise in August 2007 and Elizabeth McKee, 52, in December 2002.
The PSNI said the suspect had also been arrested for a number of other offences in relation to other women.
Detective Chief Inspector Richard Harkness said: "We are keen to speak with anyone who may have any information which could assist us and I would urge members of the community in Dromore to contact us. People may have been reluctant to come forward in the past but I can assure you that any information given to the Police will be treated in the utmost confidence. Your information could provide us with the vital link to enable us to bring this investigation to a successful conclusion."
The PSNI is asking anyone with information to contact them on 028 38315339 from 9am to 10pm Monday-Friday.

County Down school damaged by vandals
Detectives in County Down have appealed for information after a school suffered extensive criminal damage at the weekend. Police have said that vandals broke in to the science block at Dromore High School on the Banbridge Road in Dromore, and ransacked around ten classrooms.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
