Arrests Follow N Belfast Car Chase

Three men have been arrested following a car chase in north Belfast.

The chase began when officers attempted to halt a green Renault car on Sunday at around 3.15pm.

The car drove off towards Cavehill Road and Limestone Road area, before it crashed.

The men, aged 19, 23 and 21, attempted to run off but were apprehended by police.

They have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, no driving licence and failing to stop, among other offences.

School Buses Attacked

Vandals have attacked a number of school buses in Newtownards, County Down.

Police received a report that four buses had been broken into and had radios stolen at a primary school on the Portaferry Road on Monday at 2.35pm.

The vehicles were also damaged.

Woman In Court On Festival Drugs Charges

A woman has appeared in court after being arrested for carrying a quantity of illegal drugs at a music festival in County L'Derry.

25-year-old Sarah Gates, from Meadowlands, Downpatrick, was stopped at the Limavady festival, whereupon officers found LSD, Diazepam, Cannabis and Ecstasy pills.

She is also charged with supplying ecstasy and intent to supply drugs.

Men Charged Over Heroin Supply

Five Portuguese nationals have appeared at Omagh Magistrates' Court on charges of supplying heroin.

The men were arrested in Cookstown on Monday and face charges of attempting to supply the drug.

They are due to appear again via video link at Dungannon Magistrates' Court on 4 September.

Four Men Arrested In Connection With Lyra McKee Murder
Four men have been arrested in connection with the murder of journalist Lyra McKee. Ms McKee was fatally shot as she observed rioting in L'Derry in April 2019. She was 29 years old. Police investigating her death have arrested four men, aged 19, 20, 21 and 33, under the Terrorism Act.

Latest PO Robbery Sparks Appeal
Yet another post office has been targeted by robbers. Yesterday, Killyman PO, near Dungannon was the latest to be hit. Although no one was hurt, a trend of such rural hold-ups is emerging after other such post offices - including a mobile - have been targeted over the last week.

Four Charged With Drugs Offences
Four people have been charged with class A drugs offences following arrests made on Friday (30 August). Two men, aged 54 and 20, and a 42-year-old woman who are all from Liverpool, and a 35-year-old man from Antrim have been charged with the possession of Class A drugs and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Three Arrests As £300k Drugs Seized
Police say they have removed drugs worth over £300,000 from the streets of west Belfast. Three men, aged 33, 37 and 43 were arrested and a car was seized along with a further quantity of suspected class A and C drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia.
